Nastar (World)
Taito Corporation Japan • 1988
Also known as: Nastar Warrior, Rastan Saga 2

This fast-paced platform fighter from Taito debuted in arcades in 1989 as an export version of the earlier Japanese title, "Rastan Saga II." Two players can simultaneously navigate a series of scrolling environments, battling enemies and obstacles while striving to reach the end of each stage. Gameplay involves jumping, attacking with melee weapons, and using environmental elements to defeat opponents and clear paths forward. As a sequel in the Rastan series, Nastar retains the core side-scrolling action of its predecessor but introduces new mechanics and level designs. Players control distinct characters through increasingly challenging stages, encountering various foes and hazards that require precise timing and skillful execution. The game runs on Taito’s B System hardware and is part of a trilogy that includes Rastan (1987) and Warrior Blade - Rastan Saga Episode III (1992). Later compilations have made Nastar accessible to modern gamers, appearing in collections such as "Taito Legends 2" for PlayStation 2 and Xbox.
