Gameplay

Capcom’s Mega Twins arrived in arcades in 1990 as an export version of their Japanese title, Chiki Chiki Boys. This cooperative platformer combines scrolling action with fighting game elements, allowing two players to simultaneously navigate side-scrolling levels and battle a variety of enemies. Players control twin heroes who must work together to progress through the game's stages, utilizing jumping attacks and other maneuvers to overcome obstacles and defeat foes. The gameplay blends precise platforming challenges with fast-paced combat encounters. As players advance, they will face increasingly difficult opponents and intricate level designs. Notably, the export versions of Mega Twins feature altered content compared to the original Japanese release; a visual element present in later levels was removed for these international releases. Originally running on Capcom’s CP System hardware, Mega Twins has since seen ports to several home systems including the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and included within various Capcom Classics collections for Xbox, PlayStation 2, and PSP. Though planned conversions for computers like the Atari ST and Commodore Amiga were announced, they ultimately never materialized.
