Metal Slug 4 (NGM-2630)
Mega / Noise Factory / Playmore • 2002

Metal Slug 4 continues the series’ frantic run-and-gun action on SNK's Neo-Geo MVS hardware. A new cyber terror threatens global military systems as a terrorist group called Amadeus unleashes a deadly computer virus. Players control one of four operatives—Marco Rossi, Fio Germi, Nadia Cassel, and Trevor Spacey—in a desperate race to stop the threat and uncover the truth behind its origins, which leads them to suspect the return of Morden. Gameplay involves navigating scrolling environments while battling waves of enemies using a standard arsenal including machine guns, grenades, and powerful Metal Slug vehicles offering unique attacks. The cooperative two-player mode allows for even more chaotic action as players coordinate their efforts against the escalating danger. A notable element is the introduction of new characters to the established series’ lore and gameplay mechanics, expanding upon the familiar formula. Developed by Mega Enterprise in South Korea and published in 2002, Metal Slug 4 builds upon the core elements that made the franchise a popular staple of arcades, bringing with it a fresh narrative and enhanced action for veteran players and newcomers alike.
