Gameplay

Visco and Datt Japan’s Monster Slider appeared in arcades in 1997 as a cooperative puzzle game for two players. Using eight-way joysticks, each player controls a sliding block on a grid filled with colorful monsters. The goal is to maneuver the blocks to strategically position the monsters, clearing them from the playfield before they reach the bottom of the screen. Gameplay involves careful coordination between both players; successful runs require anticipating how movements will affect one another’s board state. As more monsters appear and the pace increases, timing and precision become essential for survival. A Sega Saturn port was released in 1997. The game's technical specifications include a V60 main CPU running at 16 MHz and an ES5506 sound chip also clocked at 16 MHz. Monster Slider offers a unique blend of puzzle mechanics designed for shared arcade experiences.
