Moon Shuttle (US? set 1) — Gameplay
Gameplay

In Moon Shuttle, players control spacecraft in a side-scrolling shooter set against a lunar backdrop. The gameplay revolves around clearing obstacles by shooting moon rocks, then engaging enemy forces that appear thereafter. This cycle of rock destruction and combat repeats as the game progresses, challenging players to maintain their momentum and score high. This cooperative experience allows for two players to work together, each piloting their own shuttle through the increasingly difficult encounters. A unique quirk of Moon Shuttle is its unusual voice sampling; the spoken phrases do not correspond directly with the text displayed on screen, adding a layer of unexpected humor to the action. Released in September 1981 by Nichibutsu, Moon Shuttle features an upright cabinet and a 20-inch CRT display, measuring approximately 60cm wide, 70cm deep, and 163cm tall. The game operates on a power source of 100V to 240V at 110W.
