Mr. Kougar
ATW • 1984

Mr. Kougar challenges players to navigate a series of moving platforms while consuming all the dots scattered across the screen. As you guide Mr. Kougar, avoid contact with the Banalets – his primary adversaries who inhabit these precarious platforms. Collecting eggs grants temporary invincibility and releases a fairy that travels upwards, either destroying enemies or inadvertently creating new ones by freeing additional Banalets. This two-player platform game from ATW tasks you and a friend with coordinating your efforts to clear each stage. The Zilog Z80 processors power both the gameplay and the sound effects, contributing to an energetic experience. Released in 1984, Mr. Kougar offers a unique twist on the run-and-jump genre through its fairy mechanic and escalating challenge. A bootleg version of this game was produced in Germany by Gross, adding another layer to its history. Players control Mr. Kougar using a two-way joystick and single button to make precise jumps across the moving platforms.
