Mr. Jong (Japan)
Sanritsu / Kiwako • 1983
Also known as: BlockBuster, Crazy Blocks

Mr. Jong is a cooperative puzzle game released in Japan in 1983 by Sanritsu and Kiwako for two players. Using four-way joysticks and single buttons, each player controls an avatar navigating a maze-like grid. The objective involves maneuvering blocks around the screen to specific designated locations, requiring precise coordination between both players to succeed. Gameplay presents a challenge as pathways become blocked or require careful sequencing of movements. Players must communicate effectively to solve increasingly complex puzzles, working together to clear the board and advance to the next stage. The game utilizes two Texas Instruments SN76496 sound chips for its audio output. Mr. Jong was also distributed under different names internationally as "BlockBuster" and "Crazy Blocks." It runs on a Zilog Z80 processor at 2.578 MHz.
