Mazin Wars is a two-player fighting game released by Sega in 1993 and designed for the Sega Mega Play arcade system. Players control characters engaged in close-quarters combat across dynamic, layered backgrounds that create a sense of depth. Utilizing an eight-way joystick and three buttons—attack, jump, and a special attack/guard function—players maneuver their chosen warrior to defeat opponents through a series of strikes, jumps, and unique abilities. A double dash mechanic is available by quickly moving the joystick in the desired direction twice. The American version of Mazin Wars features distinct attract mode screens promoting messages about drug awareness and environmental responsibility. This hardware-based game offers a straightforward fighting experience with simple controls meant to be easily accessible for players of all skill levels. The Sega Mega Play system delivers a unique arcade experience, showcasing the capabilities of the platform's 2.5D presentation.
