Moto Frenzy
Atari Games • 1992

Experience the thrill of motorcycle racing like never before in Moto Frenzy, an immersive driving simulator released by Atari Games in 1992. Designed for a single player, this arcade game replicates the look and feel of riding a real motorbike with realistic handlebar controls and a dynamic platform that leans, pivots, and even executes wheelies in response to your actions. The independently-powered motors deliver full-motion feedback from both the track itself and any obstacles encountered along the way, enhancing the sense of speed and control. Players navigate challenging courses using a joystick for steering and three buttons for various in-game functions. While primarily a single-player experience, operators could link two Moto Frenzy units together to allow for head-to-head competition; both players continue until one crosses the finish line within the allotted time. Built on Atari’s GX2 hardware, this game featured custom sound chips and utilized a team of developers including Dennis Harper and Milt Loper to bring the experience to life. Moto Frenzy's unique motion platform and realistic controls set it apart from traditional arcade racers, providing an engaging and physically involving gameplay experience. A unit even made a cameo appearance in the 1994 film La Vengeance d’une Blonde.
