Toaplan’s Mahjong Sisters challenges players to a unique tabletop experience released in 1986. This single-player game presents a variation on traditional mahjong gameplay where you face off against one of three selectable female opponents. Success in claiming mahjong hands impacts your opponent's attire; completing hands causes them to remove clothing, while failing to complete a hand or losing results in the reverse effect. A particularly bold feature allows players who achieve a tenpai hand—a near-complete winning arrangement—to attempt an additional challenge: selecting the correct tile from a facedown set or engaging in a yakyuken match against their opponent. Successfully completing this final step offers another chance to remove clothing, while failure restores some of what was lost. The game utilizes a custom keyboard with numerous buttons and keys for tile selection and gameplay actions, offering a complex control scheme for mastering the intricacies of strip mahjong.
