Gameplay

Miss World '96 (Nude) is a two-player puzzle game released in 1996 by Comad. Drawing clear inspiration from the earlier "Gals Panic!", this title presents a distinctive twist with its use of photographic imagery instead of animated characters. Two players cooperatively manipulate falling shapes, attempting to rotate and position them to complete outlines that appear on screen. Successfully completing these patterns advances the gameplay. The game utilizes a Motorola 68000 processor and OKI6295 sound chip for its graphics and audio. A notable aspect of Miss World '96 (Nude) is its soundtrack, which consists of looped samples taken from popular songs by artists like Jean-Michel Jarre and La Bouche without proper authorization—a common practice in some Comad arcade games of the era. The title’s use of the "Miss World" name was done without permission from Julia Morley, owner and operator of the Miss World franchise. Production of this game reached a quantity of 30,000 units. It received a refused classification rating in Australia following review by Victorian Police shortly after its release. A sequel, Miss World 2002, followed several years later.
