Mega Phoenix
Dinamic / Inder • 1991

Take to the skies in Mega Phoenix, a cooperative vertical shooter released in 1991 by Dinamic and Inder. Players pilot powerful winged ships equipped with force shields, lateral guns, and a frontal turboblaster as they confront waves of metallic bird-like enemies launching proton eggs. Two players can team up to navigate increasingly challenging levels, requiring skillful maneuvering and precise targeting to survive. Mega Phoenix originated as a Dinamic computer game that was adapted for arcade release through an agreement with Inder, marking the company’s foray into arcade hardware during a period of transition from 8-bit systems. The collaboration involved financial investment by Inder and resulted in a limited production run of approximately one thousand arcade cabinets. Developed by Fernando Jimenez Villa, Mega Phoenix utilizes Amiga hardware components including a Motorola M68000 CPU, TMS 34010 graphics, and a Zilog Z80 sound chip to deliver its action-packed gameplay experience.
