Gameplay

Navigate twisting corridors in Marvin’s Maze, a two-player maze game released by SNK in 1983. Players maneuver their characters through vertical screens filled with dots while contending with patrolling Robonoids. There are multiple paths to victory on each stage; either collect all the scattered dots or eliminate a specific number of these robotic adversaries. Players can defeat Robonoids using ranged attacks, or by utilizing strategically placed “Tricks” within the maze – sections where the ground can be removed, dropping enemies below. The scoring system rewards both approaches, with points awarded for eliminating Robonoids and collecting dots, alongside round-end bonuses based on enemy destruction. Marvin’s Maze features straightforward controls—an 8-way joystick to guide your character and a single button for firing—and presents a vibrant palette of colors across its compact screen resolution. Originally released in Japan as "ACW," this game offers a cooperative or competitive maze experience for two players.
