Major Title 2 (World, set 1, 017 sound CPU)
Irem • 1992
Also known as: The Irem Skins Game

Step onto the virtual green in Major Title 2, a competitive golf game for up to four players released by Irem in 1992. Players select from a roster of unique golfers, each possessing distinct abilities that influence their shot-making capabilities – ranging from power hitters to technical specialists. The game offers varied gameplay through multiple modes including tournament play, match play, stroke play and skins games, set against a choice of two different courses. The on-screen action alternates between a third-person perspective before the swing and an overhead view during ball flight. Once players reach the putting green, a zoomed-in view displays detailed contours to aid in precision shots. Rather than complex shot control, Major Title 2 simplifies mechanics; players adjust the angle of their swing to impart backspin or topspin while setting the power level on a gauge prior to each attempt. Subtle stance adjustments also allow for draw and fade effects. Notably, distances are measured in meters when putting, despite the game specifying putter range in yards. The game's high score table begins empty upon initial play offering a fresh challenge for newcomers. A Super Famicom port was released under the title Irem Skins Game.
