Lucky & Wild
Namco • 1992

Lucky & Wild is a cooperative driving and shooting game from Namco released in 1992. Players take on the roles of two police officers – Lucky, who steers the vehicle and fires his weapon, and Wild, who focuses solely on gunplay – as they pursue a mafia gang across various environments. The gameplay involves navigating roads while battling enemies, all accompanied by humorous dialogue between the partners and comical expressions reflected in the rearview mirror. This two-player arcade game utilizes a steering wheel for control alongside a single action button. Powered by Namco System 2 hardware, Lucky & Wild features graphics and sound designed to complement the lighthearted, buddy-cop theme. A soundtrack album featuring music and sound effects from the game was released in Japan shortly after its debut. While the title screen displays 1992, the game officially launched in April of 1993. The shared experience of driving and shooting alongside a partner, combined with the comedic interactions between Lucky and Wild, makes for an entertaining arcade adventure.
