Legend of Hero Tonma (World)

Step into the arena in Legend of Hero Tonma, a head-to-head fighting game released by Irem in 1989. Two players control valiant heroes locked in combat across vibrant, scrolling backdrops. Utilizing an eight-way joystick and four buttons, you’ll execute punches, kicks, and special attacks to overwhelm your opponent and progress through the stages. The gameplay is straightforward: maneuver your character strategically while managing stamina and timing strikes effectively. Legend of Hero Tonma features a distinct visual style and energetic soundtrack composed by GEEO, adding depth to the competitive experience. A limited-edition soundtrack album was released in Japan shortly after the game’s debut. While never seeing release on Nintendo NES or other consoles initially, ports of this title later appeared on NEC PC-Engine and TurboGrafx-16 platforms alongside other Irem arcade games. It has also been made available for personal computers through various collections.
