Leprechaun (set 1)
Pacific Polytechnical Corp. • 1982
Also known as: Pot of Gold

Run and jump through a whimsical forest in Leprechaun, a cooperative platform game released by Pacific Polytechnical Corp. in 1982. Players control characters pursuing a pot of gold that appears randomly on each screen; reaching the pot advances them to the next level. However, a mischievous Leprechaun relentlessly chases after you, and being caught results in losing a life. The game is designed with younger players in mind, featuring smaller-than-average arcade cabinets and an accessible difficulty curve geared towards children aged three to five. Gameplay centers around navigating the forest environment while avoiding capture by the pursuing Leprechaun. Touching trees increases your score and the value of the pot of gold. As you progress through levels and time passes, the Leprechaun's speed steadily accelerates, raising the challenge. Leprechaun is a two-player experience utilizing an eight-way joystick for precise movement and control as you attempt to outwit the Leprechaun and claim the coveted pot of gold.
