Legend of Success Joe is a two-player versus fighting game released in 1991 by SNK/Wave on Neo-Geo MVS hardware. Based on the influential manga and anime series Ashita no Joe, this title puts players in control of characters engaged in boxing matches, mirroring a Rocky-style narrative arc. Utilizing a four-button control scheme per player—two buttons actively used—players execute jabs, hooks, uppercuts, blocks, and defensive maneuvers to outwit their opponents. The gameplay focuses on close-quarters combat with a range of punches and evasive actions. Players must manage both offensive strikes and defensive guarding to secure victory in the ring. This title translates from Japanese as "Legend of Tomorrow's Joe" and represents the second entry in the Ashita no Joe game series, following the 1990 original. Originally released in Japan, Legend of Success Joe delivers a fighting experience rooted in classic boxing action with distinctive character designs and a narrative inspired by Asao Takamori’s original work and Tetsuya Chiba's illustrations. A version for the Super Famicom was released in Japan in 1992.
