The Last Day (set 1)
Dooyong • 1990
Also known as: Chulgyeok D-Day

Dooyong’s The Last Day debuted in arcades in 1990 as a cooperative flying shooter. Two players work together to navigate a vertical scrolling battlefield against waves of enemy aircraft and ground targets. Developed originally in Korea under the title "Chulgyeok D-Day," this version represents an export release, meaning it was made available outside its country of origin. Very few arcade boards from this game were distributed to Japan. Players control individual fighter planes, maneuvering through intense action sequences that require coordinated teamwork to survive. The gameplay focuses on precision dodging and targeted attacks as players attempt to clear the screen of incoming threats. As the game progresses, enemy formations become increasingly complex and challenging. The Last Day offers a glimpse into Korean arcade development of the early 1990s, showcasing a style of vertical shooter popular at the time. Its limited international distribution makes it a relatively rare find in collections today.
