Lady Bug — Gameplay
Gameplay

Guide a ladybug through twisting mazes in this cooperative arcade game for two players. Lady Bug, released by Universal in 1981, tasks you with navigating a Pac-Man style playfield, collecting dots and avoiding patrolling insects. Enemy bugs must be outmaneuvered while also dodging dangerous skulls; contact with either results in lost lives. Clever use of rotating doors provides a unique twist to the familiar maze formula, allowing for strategic blocking maneuvers against pursuing foes. Collecting letters within the maze spells out bonus rewards: gathering all letters yields an extra life ("EXTRA"), and collecting a different sequence awards additional points (“SPECIAL”). Players can also score big by consuming flowers, hearts, and especially, rare vegetables that appear throughout the levels—with their point value increasing as you progress. Mastering the revolving doors and understanding enemy movement are key to achieving high scores in this challenging maze chase.
