Also known as: Kyros no Yakata

Kyros is a two-player vertical scrolling fighter released in May 1987 by Alpha Denshi Co., under license from World Games Inc. Developed in Japan and distributed as an export release, players control one of two characters battling through a series of vertically-scrolling stages filled with enemies. Gameplay involves maneuvering your character to attack opponents while dodging projectiles and other hazards that descend from the top of the screen. The game presents a straightforward competitive experience; both players simultaneously navigate their chosen fighters across identical levels, attempting to defeat each other while also contending with common enemy forces. These encounters require quick reflexes and strategic positioning to succeed. While originally released as Kyros no Yakata in Japan, this version was translated for Western markets. Home computer ports of the game appeared on platforms such as the Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, Commodore C64, and Sinclair ZX Spectrum under the title "Desolator."
