Kick and Run is a team-based soccer game released by Taito Corporation in 1986 for four players. Representing national teams, players use an eight-way joystick to control their athlete’s movement across the field, attempting to score goals against the opposing side. Two buttons allow for kicking and other actions, emphasizing quick reflexes and strategic passing among teammates. The game features a selection of international teams, though one team's name reflects a slight linguistic quirk – appearing as "Argentine" rather than “Argentina.” Programmed by Takeshi Ishizashi, Kick and Run utilizes Z80 and Motorola M68705 processors alongside a YM2203 sound chip to create the gameplay experience. Later releases included a version for the Nintendo Famicom Disk in 1988 and a reappearance within "Taito Memories II Joukan" on the Sony PlayStation 2 in 2007, introducing the game to new audiences.
