Navigate the unusual world of Kick, a 1981 arcade game from Midway where you control a unicycling character tasked with catching falling objects on his head. Balloons and Pac-Men descend from above, requiring precise movements using a trackball to position your rider for each catch. A unique "kick" button allows players to propel balloons upwards for another attempt or strategically knock them away – stack too many and the entire pile will burst! The gameplay offers escalating challenges as balloon stacks grow up to eight high, demanding increasing skill and timing from the player. Bonus points are awarded for catching Pac-Men, adding an extra layer of strategic play. Originally conceived as a black and white game called Catch 40 in 1978, this colorful conversion ultimately became known both as Kick and briefly as Kick Man. Featuring distinctive upright cabinet artwork depicting a sporty figure on a unicycle kicking balloons, the machine’s controls include an oversized trackball and illuminated "Kick" buttons. While initially intended to be a sequel to Pac-Man, this quirky title stands alone with its unusual premise and engaging single-player experience.
