Keyboardmania
Konami • 2000
Also known as: Keyboardheaven

Keyboardmania challenges players to recreate musical phrases using a specialized keyboard interface. Released by Konami in 2000, this single-player music game tasks you with pressing keys in time with displayed melodies and rhythms. The gameplay focuses on accurately matching the sequence of notes shown onscreen, testing your reflexes and musicality. Utilizing custom hardware including a Yamaha YMZ280B sound chip and drawing graphics from VRAM, Keyboardmania offers an engaging visual presentation alongside its soundtrack. The game’s software incorporates both CD-ROM media for program execution and audio playback, expanding the library of songs available to play. Keyboardmania initiated a series with subsequent releases including 2ndMIX and 3rdMIX editions, each building upon the core gameplay concept.
