Miki Syouji • 1989
Also known as: Mahjong Kaguyahime Sono2 Fukkokuban

Miki Sjouji’s Mahjong Kaguyahime Sono2 is a two-player tabletop arcade game released in Japan in 1989. As a medal game, players engage in traditional mahjong gameplay against one another. The objective is to form legal hands by matching tiles, drawing new ones, and discarding unwanted pieces according to standard mahjong rules. The game features a Zilog Z80 processor for its core functions and utilizes a General Instrument AY8910 sound chip alongside a DAC for audio output. Mahjong Kaguyahime Sono2 is the second installment in the Kaguya-Hime mahjong series, following the 1988 original and preceding a later “Fukkoku-ban” revision also released in 1989. Two players can simultaneously participate, each attempting to outmaneuver their opponent through strategic tile management and skillful play within the established rules of mahjong.
