Jungle King (Japan)

Jungle King casts players as a Tarzan-like hero on a quest to rescue his princess from savage cannibals. This side-scrolling platformer challenges you and a friend to navigate four distinct stages, each offering unique gameplay scenarios. The first stage involves skillfully jumping between swinging vines while avoiding mischievous monkeys; subsequent levels take you underwater battling alligators with a knife, dodging rolling boulders in an avalanche zone, and finally infiltrating a cannibal village. Unique among early arcade games, Jungle King scrolls from right to left as players progress through the increasingly difficult environments. Completing the game rewards players with a brief "I Love You" ending before looping back for another attempt at higher scores.
