Gameplay

Jajamaru-Kun is a cooperative platform and shooter released by Jaleco in 1985. Players control a small ninja on a mission to rescue Princess Sakura from the villainous Damazu-Dayuu. The game features horizontal scrolling levels where players must navigate obstacles, defeat enemies through direct combat, and progress toward their goal of saving the princess. Gameplay combines elements of both platforming and shooting mechanics; while jumping and precise movement are crucial for avoiding danger, ranged attacks help to clear paths and overcome opponents. Two players can team up simultaneously, adding a cooperative element as they work together to tackle challenges across the game's stages. This title is the second installment in Jaleco’s Ninja-kun series, following Ninja-kun - Majou no Bouken and preceding Ninja-Kid II. Versions of this game were later released for various home consoles including the Nintendo Famicom, MSX, and Bandai WonderSwan.
