Hotdog Storm is a cooperative vertical scrolling shooter released in 1996 by Marble, under license from Ace International. Two players pilot aircraft through increasingly challenging stages, battling waves of enemies and navigating intricate level designs. The game's visuals utilize a vertical screen resolution of 240x384 pixels and a palette of over two thousand colors, creating a detailed and vibrant playing field as you ascend. Players control their respective ships using eight-way joysticks and three buttons to maneuver and fire at approaching threats. Developed by a Japanese team but manufactured in South Korea, Hotdog Storm features music driven by Yamaha or OKIM sound chips. The game’s design was overseen by A.Jin, with contributions from multiple artists and programmers who shaped the visuals, gameplay, and audio experience. Despite its development pedigree, Hotdog Storm never saw release in Japan and remains a uniquely Korean arcade title.
