Hammerin' Harry is a cooperative platform and scrolling fighter released by Irem in 1990. Two players control characters who must work together to navigate challenging levels filled with obstacles and enemies. The gameplay involves jumping, striking opponents, and utilizing hammers to clear pathways and defeat foes. This arcade title initially appeared as "Daiku no Gen-san - Beranmee Machi Soudouki" in its original Japanese release. The game was distributed in the United States in December 1990 and spawned a sequel for the Game Boy in 1993, alongside a PSP entry several years later. Later releases brought the experience to home computers through collections of Irem arcade games. A version was also made available for the Nintendo Entertainment System in Europe. Though initially released with a limited distribution in North America, Hammerin' Harry established a foundation for a series that continued across multiple platforms.
