Gameplay

Embark on a global adventure with Polly and Sally in Head Panic, a cooperative platformer released by ESD in 2000. Players control one of two characters as they navigate vibrant landscapes inspired by landmarks from around the world, facing off against various monsters along their journey. Using an eight-way joystick and simple attack and jump buttons, you’ll need to coordinate your movements to overcome obstacles and defeat enemies across diverse environments. Head Panic features a lively soundtrack that incorporates familiar sounds for genre enthusiasts; certain sound effects are derived from Treasure's Dynamite Headdy, while the distinctive "death" sound is borrowed from Atari's Klax. Two players can team up, adding to the challenge and enjoyment as you work together to progress through increasingly difficult levels. The game’s technical foundation includes a Motorola 68000 processor for gameplay and a Zilog Z80 alongside Yamaha YM3812 and OKI6295 sound chips to deliver its audio experience.
