Gameplay

Players pilot spacecraft through increasingly challenging formations in Halley's Comet, a two-player vertical shooter released in 1986 by Taito America Corporation under license from Coin-It. As Halley’s Comet approaches Earth, players must defend against waves of attacking alien drones attempting to disrupt the celestial event. Maneuvering through tight spaces and dodging enemy fire are key to survival as you ascend toward the comet itself. Gameplay involves using your ship's laser cannons to destroy incoming enemies while collecting power-ups that enhance firepower or provide protective shields. Two players can cooperate, working together to clear the screen of threats and progress further into the game’s stages. The arcade version is a conversion kit distributed in the United States by Coin-It, based on an earlier Taito release. Halley's Comet offers a fast-paced and engaging cooperative experience for two players seeking a classic vertical shooter challenge.
