Gururin — Gameplay
Gameplay

Gururin presents a distinctive puzzle challenge where players manipulate a shifting game field to align falling figures. Three color-coordinated characters descend from above, and your goal is to create lines of three matching colors either vertically or horizontally. Unlike many similar games, Gururin doesn't allow rotation of the falling pieces themselves; instead, you rotate the entire play area left or right to position them correctly. This two-player game utilizes the SNK Neo-Geo MVS hardware and features a simple control scheme—an 8-way joystick for rotating the stage and two buttons which trigger the left and right turns respectively. The visuals offer a palette of over four thousand colors, displayed at a resolution of 320x224 pixels. Developed by Face in 1994, Gururin marks their initial title released on the Neo-Geo MVS platform. While its Japanese name loosely translates to “accomplice” or "cohort," it reflects the paired nature of the falling characters within the gameplay experience.
