Gunforce: Battle Fire Engulfed Terror Island (World)

Gun Force: Battle Fire Engulfed Terror Island is a cooperative side-scrolling shooter released by Irem in 1991 for two players. As soldiers navigating a dangerous island environment, you’ll advance through levels filled with enemy combatants and obstacles. Gameplay involves shooting down opposing forces while progressing horizontally across the screen, occasionally commandeering vehicles like jeeps and helicopters to overcome challenges. The game features escalating action as players work together to clear each stage. Success requires coordinated teamwork to defeat numerous enemies and ultimately destroy a large building that marks the end of each level. A unique element present in the US version is an anti-drug message displayed at startup. This installment in Irem’s Gun Force series has seen ports to various platforms, including the Super Nintendo Entertainment System for both North America and Japan, and later appeared as part of digital collections on PC and Macintosh.
