Gundhara
Banpresto • 1995

Step into a dystopian future in Gundhara, a cooperative vertical shooter released by Banpresto in 1995. Players assume the roles of either Jerry Scott, an American soldier, or Jinn Ayakawa, from Japan, tasked with infiltrating a kidnapper’s hideout to uncover a sinister plot involving brainwashed children and imminent global conflict. The fate of the world rests on their shoulders as they navigate treacherous levels filled with enemies preparing for war under the command of a transhumanist tyrant. As players progress through each stage, their mission is to rescue all captive children while battling waves of adversaries. A variety of weapons are at your disposal – from standard Vulcan cannons and shotguns to powerful lasers and bazookas – which can be acquired by collecting items scattered throughout the game. Strategic use of these tools is essential for overcoming increasingly challenging obstacles and confronting the forces behind this disturbing conspiracy. Gundhara supports two players, allowing for coordinated teamwork as you journey through the bullet-filled landscape. The subtitle "Juudan Arashi," translating to “Bullet Storm,” aptly describes the intense action awaiting those who dare to take on this mission.
