Grind Stormer
Toaplan • 1992
Also known as: V-Five

Take to the skies in Grind Stormer, a fast-paced vertical shooter from Toaplan released in 1992. Players control one of two ships as they navigate through increasingly challenging levels filled with enemy formations and obstacles. Unlike some shooters, power-ups are collected directly by your ship, bypassing a traditional power-up bar system. The game presents a Japanese original, later distributed internationally through licensing agreements to companies in regions including the United States, Korea, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan. As you progress, expect relentless waves of adversaries requiring skillful maneuvering and precise aiming to overcome. Grind Stormer is designed for cooperative play, allowing two players to team up against the aerial onslaught.
