The Real Ghostbusters (US 2 Players, revision 2)
Data East USA • 1987

Step into the Ecto-1 and join Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler, and Winston Zeddemore in The Real Ghostbusters, a cooperative shooter released by Data East USA in 1987. As one of the Ghostbusters, players navigate maze-like environments using a joystick and button to trap roaming ghosts with their proton packs. The gameplay blends walking sequences with bursts of action as you pursue spectral entities through various locations. This US version is based on an earlier Japanese game called Meikyuu Hunter G. Two players can team up to tackle the paranormal threats, coordinating their efforts to corner and contain the ghostly apparitions that populate each level. Successfully trapping ghosts rewards points and advances the gameplay. The Real Ghostbusters arrived in arcades during May of 1987 and later saw ports to several home computers including those from Amstrad, Atari, Commodore, and Amiga.
