Mahjong Gal no Kokuhaku (Japan, set 1)
Nichibutsu / T.R.Tec • 1989
Also known as: Mahjong Hyouban Musume

Nichibutsu’s Mahjong Gal no Kokuhaku, released in Japan in 1989, offers a two-player tabletop experience centered around the traditional game of mahjong. Players use a dedicated keyboard to match tiles and build winning hands against their opponent. Special tiles appear during gameplay that can award bonus points, adding an element of strategy beyond standard mahjong rules. The game’s unusual title translates to "Mahjong Gal's Confession," hinting at its unique presentation. A distinctive feature available only in Tokyo and Osaka was a telephone service; successful players were shown phone numbers at the end of each stage, allowing them to call the women featured within the game. Developed by T.R.Tec, Mahjong Gal no Kokuhaku utilizes a Zilog Z80 processor for its gameplay engine and incorporates an YM3812 sound chip alongside a DAC for audio output. A medal version of this game exists under the name "Mahjong Hyouban Musume."
