Gameplay

Galaxia challenges two players to defend against waves of alien invaders in this engaging shooter. Published in 1979 by Zaccaria, under license from Namco, it draws inspiration from the earlier game Galaxian. Players control spaceship cannons positioned at the bottom of the screen, maneuvering them horizontally to target and destroy incoming formations of aliens descending from the top. The gameplay revolves around precision shooting and strategic movement; players must anticipate alien attack patterns while conserving limited shots. Destroying all the aliens advances the player to the next increasingly difficult round. This two-player arcade game offers a cooperative experience as you work together against the extraterrestrial threat. Galaxia represents an example of Italian arcade development influenced by Japanese game design, providing a familiar yet distinct shooting gallery experience for players.
