Gameplay

Mahjong Gal 10-renpatsu is a two-player arcade game released in Japan by Fujic in 1993 that combines traditional mahjong gameplay with a distinctive visual presentation. Players face off against ten different female opponents, each possessing unique personalities and three sequential “strip sequences” revealed upon winning a hand. Throughout the game, players earn points which can be used to purchase items offering advantages during subsequent rounds. A feline companion, reminiscent of the popular character Doraemon, assists by selling these helpful items. Each opponent’s initial strip sequences are still images progressing in visual style, culminating in a more animated scene triggered by repeated button presses. After defeating an opponent, the next challenger is determined randomly via dice roll. The game features a standard mahjong keyboard for controls and utilizes Zilog Z80 processors alongside sound chips to deliver its gameplay experience. The player’s funds serve as a crucial resource; depletion results in a game over. Successfully navigating each hand and strategically utilizing earned points are key to advancing through the competition of beautiful women, ultimately determined by skill at mahjong.
