Gameplay

Take to the skies in Flying Shark, a cooperative vertical shooter from Toaplan and Taito Corporation released in 1987. As one of two pilots, players maneuver an advanced seaplane through enemy-infested waters and airspace, battling waves of ships, helicopters, and other aerial threats. The gameplay focuses on precision flying and skillful use of weaponry to survive increasingly challenging levels. This version is an export release, building upon the foundation established by the original Japanese title, Hi Sho Zame. Players will encounter a variety of enemy types requiring different strategies to defeat, while working together with a second player to clear each stage. Later entries in the series include Fighting Hawk and Fire Shark!, representing further installments in Toaplan's action-oriented catalog. Ports of this game appeared on several home computers during the late 1980s, including versions for Sinclair ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, and Commodore Amiga.
