Idol Mahjong Final Romance 2 (Neo-Geo, bootleg of CD version)

Idol Mahjong Final Romance 2 is a tabletop game for two players released in 1995 as an arcade conversion of a Neo-Geo CD title. This bootleg version was produced by unknown pirates and adapted for the standard Neo-Geo MVS arcade system. Players engage with the traditional ruleset of mahjong, a tile-based game requiring strategic matching and planning to achieve winning combinations. The gameplay involves carefully selecting and discarding tiles from a communal pool, aiming to form sequences and sets according to established scoring patterns. As a mature title, it features adult themes not common in mainstream arcade games. The visual presentation draws directly from the original Neo-Geo CD release; however, its origins as an unauthorized port are evident. This unique offering provides a glimpse into the world of unlicensed arcade conversions during the mid-1990s and introduces players to a distinctive twist on the classic mahjong formula within a two-player competitive setting.
