Gameplay

Navigate a series of lily pads in Frogs, a single-player platform game released by Gremlin in 1978. As a frog, your objective is to catch flying insects—butterflies and houseflies—by jumping across the screen and extending your tongue. Precise timing and careful positioning are key as you attempt to snag each passing treat. The gameplay steadily increases in difficulty, with more insects appearing and requiring quicker reflexes. A particularly valuable prize awaits skilled players: catching a dragonfly awards a free game. Controlling movement with a four-way joystick, Frogs offers simple but engaging arcade action built around the Zilog Z80 processor and distinct sound circuitry.
