Final Fight Revenge / Final Revenge (JUET 990930 V1.100)
Capcom • 1999

Final Fight Revenge is a two-player fighting game released in 1999 by Capcom, built on the foundation of their popular "Final Fight" series. Departing from the original’s side-scrolling beat-'em-up format, this title presents a three-dimensional versus experience reminiscent of Street Fighter EX. Players choose from a roster of characters and engage in one-on-one battles using an eight-way joystick and six buttons to execute various attacks and special moves. The game’s development was handled by Capcom USA, marking a shift from the Japanese branch that spearheaded previous installments. Characters like Cody possess unique victory animations; for instance, defeating an opponent with his “Punch-out” super move triggers a specific pose inspired by Hokuto no Ken. Final Fight Revenge initially ran on Sega Titan Video hardware and was later ported to the Sega Saturn in Japan. While it continued the "Final Fight" lineage, many fans felt this entry strayed significantly from the core gameplay of its predecessors, creating a different experience entirely. A Dreamcast port was planned but ultimately never materialized.
