Gameplay

Defend against waves of descending alien formations in Fantastic, a shooting gallery game released by Taito do Brasil. This single-player title presents a familiar challenge – maneuver your spaceship across the bottom of the screen and destroy attacking enemies before they reach your base. Players use a standard joystick to control movement and a button to fire, strategically targeting aliens while dodging their projectiles. Fantastic is built upon the hardware foundation of Taito’s Galaxian, resulting in gameplay that feels somewhat deliberate compared to other shooters of the era; movements are less fluid, and the pace is slower. Despite this difference, players will recognize the classic formula of battling increasingly complex alien patterns as they progress through each stage. The game's visuals and sound effects are delivered via a Zilog Z80 processor and two General Instrument AY-3-8910-A sound chips, providing an authentic arcade experience for fans of early shooter games.
