Gameplay

Navigate twisting mazes as a uniquely charming character in Eyes, a two-player maze game released in 1982 by Techstar under license from Rock-Ola. Players control hat-wearing eyeballs tasked with collecting all the dots scattered throughout each level to advance. Unlike some of its contemporaries, players don't consume these points; instead, they shoot them to clear the screen and proceed. The gameplay is complicated by persistent computer-controlled eyes that pursue the players and fire projectiles. Eliminating an enemy eye rewards points but only temporarily – it will reappear shortly. Contact with an enemy’s shot results in defeat, adding a layer of challenge as you maneuver through the increasingly complex layouts. As you progress, Eyes introduces more enemies and accelerates their movements and firing rate, demanding both precision and strategy to survive and achieve high scores. A similar game, Eggor, appeared from Telko just one year later, demonstrating a kinship in design concepts.
