Gameplay

Navigate challenging off-road courses in Sega’s Enduro Racer, released in 1986. As a lone rider on a dirt bike, players must skillfully maneuver through five distinct environments filled with obstacles like logs, rocks, and rival racers. Success requires careful timing and precision; jumps are only possible at designated ramps along each track, demanding the player execute a “wheelie” by physically raising the cabinet's handlebars to launch the bike into the air. The unique control scheme is central to the gameplay experience, as failing to perform the wheelie correctly results in a crash upon landing. Enduro Racer offers a single-player challenge of skill and endurance as you strive for a high score across increasingly difficult terrain. The game’s soundtrack was later released on an Alfa Records album dedicated to Sega arcade music. This upright cabinet utilizes Motorola 68000 and Zilog Z80 processors, alongside Yamaha YM2151 and Sega sound chips to deliver its distinctive audio-visual presentation. A high score of 40,973,617 points is the current record held by Jack Gale.
