Gameplay

Elevator Action Returns is a fast-paced platform shooter that puts players in the roles of special operatives tasked with disarming nuclear bombs hidden within secure facilities. The gameplay revolves around navigating complex environments – skyscrapers, airports, and even underwater plants – using elevators and ladders to reach red doors necessary for progression. Scattered throughout each level are blue doors containing valuable items like extra health or powerful weapons, including missile launchers and machine guns, though ammunition is limited. Players can choose from three distinct characters: Kart Bradfield, a nimble operative with grenades; Edie Burret, the rapid-fire specialist armed with incendiary bombs; and Jad the Taff, a durable powerhouse utilizing sensor bombs. Unique mechanics allow for close-range attacks to conserve ammo and environmental hazards like oil drums and electric barriers add further challenge. Clever use of elevators to crush enemies is also possible. Six stages await players, each presenting unique obstacles and requiring strategic planning to overcome. The game's frantic action and inventive level design provide a thrilling experience for up to four simultaneous players, while a peculiar quirk prevents the display of certain initials on the high score table.
