Gameplay

Piloted from above, your craft ascends through increasingly challenging levels in this 1989 vertically scrolling shooter developed by Philko and originally released in Korea. As a lone player, you maneuver using an eight-way joystick to dodge enemy fire and destroy waves of incoming adversaries. Three buttons allow for varied actions as you fight your way upwards, facing off against numerous foes while progressing through the game's scenario. The game’s visuals are complemented by music composed by Lee Jeongkyu, Kim Hyungbum, and Cho Kwangho, alongside sound effects produced utilizing Yamaha YM2203 chips. Programmed by No Youngho and featuring graphic design contributions from Jang Kye Sook, Kwak Wooyong, Nam Hanhee, and Choi Kwanghun, Dyger presents a straightforward but engaging experience for fans of the shoot 'em up genre. The game was later licensed to Sharp Image for distribution in the United States.
