Dragon World II is a tabletop game released in 1997 by IGS, part of a larger series that began with Dragon World in 1995. This export version originated in Japan and is known there as “Chuugoku Ryuu II.” Up to four players simultaneously compete on the table, strategically matching tiles to earn points and clear the playfield. The core gameplay involves identifying and selecting pairs of identical tiles amongst a larger arrangement—a style reminiscent of the classic Chinese game of Mahjong or Shanghai. Players must carefully plan their moves as they navigate the intricate tile patterns, aiming for high scores while potentially disrupting opponents' progress. Scoring is achieved through successful matches; with each cleared pair contributing to an individual player’s overall total. The game continues until all tiles have been matched or a predetermined time limit is reached. Dragon World II follows in the footsteps of its predecessor and is linked to subsequent entries like Dragon World 3 and Dragon World 2001, establishing a continuing series within IGS's lineup of tabletop arcade games.
