Dream World
SemiCom • 2000

Dream World is a cooperative platform game released in 2000 by SemiCom. Two players navigate vibrant, surreal environments as they run and jump across precarious platforms, working together to overcome obstacles. The gameplay focuses on precise timing and coordination between the two characters, with each player needing to rely on the other to progress through increasingly challenging levels. The game utilizes a horizontal screen resolution of 304 x 224 pixels, showcasing colorful graphics rendered from a palette of over four thousand colors. A prototype version of this title, initially known as "Lode Quest," never saw release but hints at an earlier stage in the development process. The soundtrack and sound effects were composed by Suk Ki Jeon, while Kyung Hee Kim and Won Young Lee contributed to character design alongside other members of the SemiCom team. Players control their characters using three buttons for movement and jumping, aiming to reach the end of each level’s unique map title. Boss encounters are also a feature of Dream World, designed by a collaborative effort from several artists within SemiCom.
